Firstly, you must know that now AIIMS and JIPMER are eliminated and for admissions in any medical college, you need to appear for NEET exams conducted by NTA.

Secondly, if you are targeting to get admissions in AIIMS, then in any case you need to score more than 700+ out of 720 marks. Following NEET 2020, it is expected that the competition is going to increase significantly as the number of students appearing for NEET exams will increase.

Moving forward to your question of a 1-year preparation for NEET 2021, here’s what you need to do:

  1. One year is a good enough time for anyone to prepare fully. You need to rely on your self-study.
  2. You need to be self-reliant, dedicated and consistent in your studies
  3. Make NCERT your Bible book to study each and every topic from there.
  4. Choose Books Wisely: You will come across many people recommending you to study this and that, however, it is important for you to stick to only few books including Reference Materials and any other book for MCQs. I personally recommend the following books- Biology- NCERT and Fingertips by MTG, Physical Chemistry- NCERT along with OP Tandon or N Awasthi for MCQs, Inorganic Chemistry: NCERT, Organic Chemistry: OP Tandon along with NCERT, Physics: NCERT and DC Pandey/ HC Verma.
  5. Make Notes: Making notes for all subjects and for all topics is very crucial for your preparations. These notes will help you with your quick revisions.
  6. Important Topics: Thoroughly study all important topics as they are very important for scoring well in NEET exams.
  7. MCQs: There’s no substitute for practicing MCQS, this is the most important thing you need imbibe in your daily practice. Sit down for at least 2–3 hrs daily to practice MCQS for all the topics you have studied on that day.
  8. Test Series: Unlike many students who start to study just 3–4 months before the exam, if you are serious about your marks and goal, then start practicing these Tests Serie, Mock Papers and Previous Year Papers while you are completing the syllabus. This will help you significantly in retaining the concepts.
  9. Stay away from all kinds of distractions and negativities
