JEE MAIN 2020
JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION ( JEE MAIN ) is an all India common engineering entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), formerly conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to undergraduate programmes BE, B.Tech, B.Arch at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions, institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other institutions.

PATTERN
PAPER 1 (BE/B.TECH)
- The exam will be of total 3-hour duration.
- 20 questions in each subject will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) i.e. each question will have four choices, only one being the correct choice.
- 5 questions in each subject will be Numerical Value Questions i.e. each question will have a numerical value as the correct answer.
- For Multiple Choice Questions, each correct answer fetches 4 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1 mark).
- For Numerical Value Questions, each correct answer fetches 4 marks, while there’s no negative marking for incorrect answers.
- No marks are awarded for questions not attempted.
- There will be 75 questions in all.
- The candidate can go back and change any of his/her answers among the 75 questions.

PAPER 2 (B.ARCH.)
- The exam will be of total 3-hour duration.
- Mathematics Test will have 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) i.e. each question will have four choices, only one being the correct choice AND 5 Numerical Value Questions i.e. each question will have a numerical value as the correct answer.

Major changes introduced from JEE Main 2020:
- Numerical Value Questions introduced for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects.
- The Total number of questions and Total marks have been revised.
- Paper 2 for B.Arch./B.Planning has now been divided into B.Arch paper and B.Plan. paper. The B.Plan paper is now completely Computer based.
