How to prepare for AIIMS? Estimated Marks and Ranks required to get through AIIMS

Hopefully, you already know that from this year onwards there will be no separate exams for AIIMS and JIPMER. Since the exam is for 720 marks, you must aim to achieve at least 700+ to be among the top students and an aIR<1000 will secure a seat in AIIMS.

Also, remember this year there are more than 15 lac+ students who have applied for the NEET UG 2020.

So before I start explaining how to strategize your study for NEET, here are few important tips for you to keep in mind:

  1. Notes: Are you referring to your Notes regularly to revise and retain the topics, formulas, and diagrams?
  2. MCQs: Have you solved enough MCQs form each topic? If yes, then revise them again at the final stage of revision.
  3. Mock Tests: How many Mock Tests have you taken till now? If you are aiming for AIIMS, then just do not compromise on Mock Tests and Previous Years Papers. It helps you gauge your performance, preparation, and time management. Try and finish your test series within 2hrs 30 mins, this will help you save time and revise the answers. Also, do Analyze the mistakes you are making on the way and then rectify them by revising the topics again and again.
  4. Avoid Negative Marking: On your final day, try and avoid answering any question where you have doubts.

Before we start, let me tell you the weight which each subject carries.

Total Marks for NEET Exam is 720.

BIOLOGY= Total 360 Marks where Botany is for 200 Marks and Zoology is for 160 Marks

Class XI Syllabus: 212 Marks and Class XII Syllabus: 148 Marks

CHEMISTRY: Total of 180 Marks

Class XI Syllabus: 64 Marks and Class XII Syllabus: 116 Marks
