How many students registered for the NEET 2020?

A total of 15,93,452 lakh candidates have applied for the NEET 2020 across India. Compared to the previous year 2019 applications, it is for the first time, there are more than 15 lakh candidates for the exam which is also 14.52 percent from NEET 2018. The credit goes to the two new developments :

1) NEET is now mandatory for Indian students aspiring to study medicine abroad.

2) NEET has now eliminated AIIMS and JIPMER exams. This means, the individual exams for AIIMS and JIPMER will not be conducted and the students will be selected based on their marks in NEET exams. This could also be the possible reason for a rise of 4.87 percent i.e, 74,083 candidates from last year.
